Intellectual Property Policy

Last updated:

Sports apparel sits right next to some of the most valuable brands in the world: team names, league logos, club crests and famous players. This Intellectual Property Policy explains how Jerseyheaven stays on the right side of those rights, who owns the content on https://jerseyheaven.com, what you may and may not do with it, the rules for personalised products, and how to report a trademark, design, publicity or other intellectual property concern. Copyright notices have their own process on our DMCA page.

Intellectual property at a glance

  • Our jerseys are sports-style apparel designed by or for Jerseyheaven, not official merchandise of any team, league, school or player.
  • We do not knowingly sell products that use another party’s trademarks, logos or player likenesses without permission.
  • Our name, designs, photos and text belong to Jerseyheaven or our licensors; you are welcome to link to them but not to copy them.
  • Personalisation must not use team names, league marks or celebrity names you have no right to use.
  • Report concerns to support@jerseyheaven.com; we acknowledge within 1 business day and review within 5 business days.

1. What we sell, and what we do not

Jerseyheaven sells sports-style jerseys and fan apparel: baseball, football, basketball, hockey, soccer, softball and volleyball styles, plus hoodies, T-shirts, jackets, polos and shorts. The styles reflect the general look of each sport, such as button-front baseball plackets, roomy hockey cuts or sleeveless basketball tops, which are common design conventions and are not owned by anyone.

We are not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any professional or college team, league, governing body or athlete, unless a product page says so clearly and specifically. We do not sell counterfeit goods, and we do not use other organisations’ names, logos, crests, mascots, slogans or trade dress to suggest a connection that does not exist. When a product description mentions a sport, a colour combination or a position, it is describing the garment, not claiming any official status.

2. Our own intellectual property

All content on the site, including the Jerseyheaven name and wordmark, any logo we adopt, our original garment designs and graphics, product photographs and illustrations, product descriptions, size and care guides, banners, page layouts and code, is owned by Jerseyheaven or used under licence. It is protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws in the United States and in the other countries where we sell, including Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

3. What you may do

  • View, browse and print pages for your personal, non-commercial use, for example printing our size guide to measure a jersey at home.
  • Share links to our pages and products by message, email or on social media.
  • Post photos of yourself wearing products you bought from us; we love seeing them.
  • Quote a short extract from one of our guides with a link back to the original page.

4. What you may not do

  • Copy, download in bulk, republish or resell our product photos, designs, descriptions or guides, including on marketplaces, print-on-demand platforms or other stores.
  • Produce, sell or distribute products that copy our original designs or graphics.
  • Use the Jerseyheaven name, logo or anything confusingly similar in a way that suggests you are us, work for us or are endorsed by us, including in domain names, social media handles or advertising.
  • Scrape the site with automated tools, other than normal search engine indexing.
  • Frame our pages within another website or remove copyright or ownership notices.

5. Personalised products and your responsibility

Some products may let you add a name, number or short text. Personalisation is for your own name, a nickname, a family surname, your local club or a number that means something to you. You must not ask us to add:

  • the name, logo, crest, mascot or slogan of a professional or college team, league or governing body;
  • the name, signature, nickname or likeness of a professional athlete or celebrity, combined with styling that suggests official merchandise;
  • another company’s trademark or brand name;
  • artwork or text you do not own or have permission to use;
  • anything offensive, hateful or unlawful.

We review personalisation requests and may refuse or cancel any that we reasonably believe would infringe someone’s rights or break this policy. When we cancel for this reason, we refund the order in full, received within 7 calendar days. Adding your own surname and favourite number to a blank jersey is exactly what personalisation is for; recreating a famous player’s official jersey is not something we can produce.

6. Rights of publicity and personal names

Many places protect a person’s name, image and likeness from commercial use without consent. We do not use real athletes, celebrities or private individuals in our product images or marketing without permission, and we do not create products designed to trade on a famous person’s identity. If you believe a product or image on our site uses your name or likeness, or that of someone you represent, please report it under section 9.

7. Trademarks of others

Any third-party names that appear on the site, for example the name of a shipping carrier or payment provider shown at checkout, belong to their owners and are used only to identify those services. Their appearance does not mean those companies endorse Jerseyheaven or our products.

8. The standard every design must meet

Every design offered on Jerseyheaven is meant to meet a simple standard: its artwork and wording must not copy a protected logo, crest or other mark, and any image used to show it must be our own or licensed to us. Colour pairings alone are not exclusive to any team, but a design should not combine colours with other identifying elements, such as a city name in a particular script or a mascot, in a way that points to a specific team. If you think a product on our site falls short of this standard, please tell us using the process below; we review it promptly and remove it when appropriate.

9. Personalisation examples

Examples of personalisation requests
Request Can we produce it? Why
Your own surname and the number 23 Yes Your name and a number are yours to use.
Your local rec-league team name, such as “Riverside Rockets” Usually Fine if it is your own club’s name and not a professional team’s mark.
A famous player’s surname with their well-known number No It suggests official player merchandise and may break publicity rights.
A professional team’s city name and nickname No Team names are protected trademarks.
A league slogan or championship phrase No Slogans and event names are often registered marks.
“Grandpa” with a family reunion year Yes Personal, non-branded text.

If your request falls into a grey area, email us before you order. We would rather help you find wording that works than cancel your order later.

10. If you disagree with a removal

If content you submitted, such as a review photo, was removed after an IP report and you believe that was a mistake, reply to our removal email explaining why, with any evidence of permission or ownership. We review your response, may share it with the person who made the report, and will tell you the outcome. For copyright removals, the formal counter-notification process on our DMCA page applies.

11. How to report an intellectual property concern

Email support@jerseyheaven.com with the subject “IP concern” and include:

  1. your name, organisation if any, and contact details, and your relationship to the rights owner (owner, employee or authorised agent);
  2. the right you believe is affected, for example a trademark registration number and country, a registered design, or a description of the personality right;
  3. the URL of each product or page concerned on jerseyheaven.com, and which element you are referring to;
  4. a short explanation of why you believe it infringes;
  5. a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised, and that the information you provide is accurate.

You can also write to Jerseyheaven, 801 E Locust St, Fort Branch, IN 47648-1217, United States, although email is faster. For copyright in photos, artwork or text, please use the process on our DMCA page instead.

14. Ideas and feedback

We welcome suggestions for new styles, sizes or colours, such as a sport we do not yet cover or a cut you would like to see in 4XL and 5XL. Ideas from fans often shape what we look at next. If you send us ideas or feedback, you agree that we may use them without payment or obligation. We will never publish your name or personal information alongside your idea without asking first.

15. Permission requests and contact

To ask permission to use our photos, designs or text, for example for a club newsletter or an article, email support@jerseyheaven.com and tell us what you would like to use and where. For anything else about this policy, contact us the same way. See also our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
